Headlight Restoration

Do you wish your headlights were clear and “like new” but don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars for new ones? You can get rid of that cloudy exterior with just a few tools and some know-how. This video will show you how to use air tools and some polishing compound to trasform your headlights.

Intermediate level of project

Tools and Supplies Needed:

90 degree air drill (example: CH model PL154499) or 3/8 reversible air drill (example: CH model PL154598)

Sandpaper for air drill (500, 1000 or 1500, and 3000 grit depending on condition of headlights)

Headlight restoration kit that includes a drill polishing attachment (from a local auto parts store)

Air compressor (20 gallon or larger)
Air hose and fittings
Air tool oil
Safety glasses
Painter’s tape or masking tape
Terry or microfiber cloth
Spray bottle with soapy water (mix approximately ½ teaspoon soap with 1 quart water)
